“THE PRODUCERS”- The Most Award Winning Musical Comedy in Broadway History

November 13-16, 20-23

The Capital City Players present "The Producers," a dinner theatre production at Shikles Auditorium, 1200 Linden Drive. We proudly begin our new season with one of Broadway’s funniest and most popular new musical comedy hits by the King of Comedy himself—Mel Brooks. When a Broadway producer’s accountant convinces him a flop show could make more money than a hit through creative accounting, the two set out to find the worst play ever written. Then they hire the worst director in town and the worst actors in New York and raise two million dollars to open this sure fire flop. Their plan is to take the two million dollars and retire to Rio. To their amazement and dismay, “Springtime for Hitler” turns out to be a roaring success. The laughs just keep coming from all the wild characters and hilarious situations in this musical comedy romp. You’ll be rolling in the aisles in this one! Evening performances will be November 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22; doors open at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances will be November 16 and 23; doors open at noon, lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the show starts at 1:30 p.m. Advance reservations are required; call (573) 681-9012 for tickets.
