Salute to America

July 3-4

Join us for one of the largest 4th of July celebrations in the state! This year the celebration will include activities beginning on Friday evening, July 3, with the parade at 6 p.m. and a concert on the Capitol Main Stage. Activities will take place throughout the day on Saturday, July 4, and will wrap up with another entertaining concert. The night wouldn't be complete without the Fireworks Sky Concert extravaganza featuring enormous 16" shells. With a full festival schedule, there will be plenty of fun-filled activities to entertain people of all ages. Whether it’s dancing to the sound of great music, enjoying some tasty cuisine or diving into the historic tradition of the Fourth of July, Jefferson City provides the experience through Salute to America. Shakespeare in the Park

July 8-11

The Capital City Players present "Shakespeare in the Park." Now in its 18th year, Shakespeare in the Park offers local theatre goers a taste of Shakespeare in a beautiful outdoor theatre setting. Singin' in the Rain- "Stars Under the Stars" Outdoor Summer Movie Series

July 17

Enjoy your favorite movies on a giant inflatable screen under the stars and in the shadows of the Missouri State Capitol. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments (no alcoholic beverages permitted) and be entertained by these free family films shown on the south capitol lawn. Pre-show activities begin at 7:30 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m. For more information, call (573) 634-6482.

Missouri State Time Trial Championships

July 19

The best amateur and professional bicycle racers in the state of Missouri will compete on Highway 94 in an out and back race against the clock. The course is 12.5 miles and racers will begin at 1 minute intervals. The event is from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. and is free for spectators and $25 for participants, USA cycling license is required. Cruisin for MDA

Head to downtown Jefferson City from 5 to 9:30 p.m. the last Saturday of every month from March to September. Listen to the music supplied by COOL 97.5, grab some food sold by the Jefferson City Host Lions Club and look at the cars displayed on the streets.
